1911, 1961: Two great events to celebrate Italy
The previous anniversaries of national unification – the Fiftieth in 1911 and the Centennial in 1961 – were celebrated in the three historical Italian capitals, Torino, Florence, and Rome, with grand events that attracted million of Italian and foreign visitors on both occasions.
The two anniversaries were not only symbolic moments to celebrate the value of national unity and the glories of our Risorgimento past, but also constituted a strong leverage for the cultural and urban development of the three cities.
