Comitato Italia 150
Il Comitato Italia 150
The various Institutions in Turin and Piedmont were already intent on organising a major event for celebrating the 150 years of Italy’s Unification in 2011 many years in advance. On 7 May 2007, the Articles of Association for Comitato Italia 150 were signed. In attendance were the representatives of eleven different subjects, representing various areas of the territory and who together promoted the creation of the new body.
These subjects were the Piedmont Regional Council, the Turin Provincial Council, the City of Turin, the Compagnia di San Paolo, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Unioncamere Piemonte, Turin University, Turin Polytechnic, the University of Piemonte Orientale, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences.
As required by the Bylaws, the Italian Government officially became a member of Comitato Italia 150 in September 2008, on decision by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, appointing three representatives to the Board. An important sign of how the Piedmont territory is working cohesively, in synergy with the national Institutions, towards this important deadline.
